Biography & Research Interests

Prior to joining the MBMG, Steve was a University Professor for approximately 15 years. He was a founding member and Head Geologist of the Fire & Ice Aspiring UNESCO Geopark in British Columbia. Steve is a passionate experiential educator. This includes planning and leading domestic and international field excursions for university students, executing adult education programs, and developing curriculum for K-12 education. He also has extensive experience in successfully planning, producing, and presenting multimedia learning forums. Steve's ongoing research investigates young volcanic landscapes and monitoring of the resulting geohazard threats to public places.
