Description The White method of water-level drawdown was used to measure evapotranspiration on a field of Russian Olive and Salt cedar near Hysham, Montana. Measured evapotranspiration from this field was approximately 1 mm/day, which results in a total rate of 0.003 acre-feet of water use per day per acre of Salt cedar canopy. Salt cedar concentrates sodium and sulfate near the soil surface which can hinder native plant communities.
