Biography & Research Interests

Jay is engaged in research projects that support the development and utilization of Montana's energy resources. His primary research is focused on petroleum and coal geology, but it also includes geothermal and nuclear energy sources. Jay is leading an MBMG effort in subsurface mapping to develop a 3D geologic framework for central and eastern Montana. Other interests include petrophysics and paleontology.
